Clinical Application of MRI in Spinal Diseases

Abstract

|
Semi-invasive computed tomography(C-T) and myelography had been used for the diagnosis of the spinal diseases, but have drawbacks of ionising radiation. Recently with the advent of non-invasive MRI, it provides not only non-exposure to ionising
radiation but also direct sagittal cut. From August 1990 to May 1991, MRI were performed in 110 cases. Among them, HNP were 41 cases, spinal stenosis 38 cases, trauma 16 cases, metastatic carcinoma 6 cases, spinal infection 3 cases and other 6
cases.
The following results are obtained.
